James George Defares – Nederlands arts, fysioloog, biomathematicus en auteur.

James George Defares vervulde talrijke functies, waaronder hoogleraar mathematische biologie in Leiden, hoofd van het Thorax laboratorium in het Academisch ziekenhuis te Groningen, gasthoogleraar en gastlector aan diverse universiteiten.

Helvetica

Helvetica was developed in 1957 by Max Miedinger with Eduard Hoffmann at the Haas’sche Schriftgiesserei (Haas type foundry) of Münchenstein, Switzerland. Haas set out to design a new sans-serif typeface that could compete with Akzidenz-Grotesk in the Swiss market.

Project Xanadu

Project Xanadu was the first hypertext project, founded in 1960 by Ted Nelson.
